Loan Repayment Insurance
Žltý melón offers you practical and advantageous insurance for your ability to repay your loan. In addition to receiving better loan terms thanks to the insurance, it will help you in case of an unexpected life situation.
Žltý melón does not insure your ability to repay directly — instead, it cooperates with Generali Poisťovňa,
the branch of an insurance company from another EU member state. You simply choose the insurance when applying for the loan,
and we will handle all the rest for you.
Generali offers the following insurance packages for Žltý melón clients:
- Package A – Basic (repayment insurance for death, total permanent disability, incapacity for work, and bone fracture)
- Package B – Comprehensive (repayment insurance for death, total permanent disability, incapacity for work, involuntary unemployment, and bone fracture)
- Package C – Senior (repayment insurance for death and bone fracture) – available for borrowers aged 61 to 62
Insurance Price
Compared to the benefits it provides, the insurance does not significantly increase your monthly payment. For package A, your instalment increases by approx. €3.50; for package B, around €8 (exact amount depends on your loan amount).
Insurance gives you better loan terms
Benefits of insurance with Žltý melón:

Insurance Characteristics
- Insurance covers the risks of death, total permanent disability, incapacity for work, involuntary unemployment, and bone fracture.
- The insurance period corresponds to the duration of the client’s loan contract.
- The monthly insurance premium is calculated based on the monthly instalment of the loan (as a percentage of the instalment amount).
Insurance Benefits (Payouts)
- 1. Death
The insurer pays the full remaining outstanding principal as of the date of the insured’s death. - 2. Permanent disability
Once the insured receives a valid decision confirming entitlement to disability pension (total permanent disability), the insurer pays 12 monthly instalments, or fewer if fewer remain. After confirmation of total permanent disability, the insurer pays the remaining loan principal in full. - 3. Incapacity for work
After a waiting period of 60 consecutive days, the insurer pays monthly instalments during the incapacity period, for a maximum of 12 months. The first paid instalment is the one due after day 60. - 4. Involuntary unemployment
After a deferral period of 90 days and 60 consecutive days of unemployment, the insurer pays the borrower’s loan instalments for up to 6 months. The first instalment covered is the one due after 60 days of unemployment. - 5. Bone fracture
The insurer pays a lump sum of €200 (or €100 for an incomplete fracture), regardless of the number of bones fractured.
Exclusions and Limitations
There are no special exclusions beyond those listed in the General Insurance Terms and the Special Conditions for Bone Fracture Insurance. The maximum total benefit per insured person is €83,000. The insurance ends — among other conditions — at the end of the calendar year in which the client turns 65, or in the case of Package C, 67.
